To entertain a wife of a Russian billionaire, Jennifer Lopez receive US$ 2 million.

Jennifer Lopez is hot — in Russia.

The diva, whose career has cooled a bit in the U.S. — is reportedly being paid $2 million to sing at a 30th birthday party that a Russian tycoon is throwing for his wife.

Andrei Melnichenko, a 35-year-old Russian banker, is flying Lopez to the U.K. to entertain his model wife, Aleksandra, and her 60 guests at their home for her birthday bash, according to various overseas reports. The tab is said to be $1.2 million fee, plus $800,000 for Lopez and her entourage’s expenses. Melnichenko’s personal fortune is reportedly close to $5 billion.

Alec Baldwin who is very much in the news because of the taped verbal abuse directed to her daughter.

Baldwin berated the daughter

A family court judge temporarily ordered Baldwin to cease all contact with his daughter, pending a May 4 court hearing in Los Angeles, where Basinger and Ireland live.

Alec Baldwin who is divorced from his ex-wife, actress Kim Basinger berated his daughter calling her "rude, thoughtless little pig".

The question is if Baldwin is going to lose his visitation rights.

“It’s the nastiest divorce I’ve ever seen,” said Levin. “It’s been going on for years. There has been such hatred and bitterness in this family. Kim Basinger believes that she has been the victim in this, that he has an explosive, volcanic temper. He believes that she’s denying him the right to parent Ireland, and it has just been endless.”

“It’s pretty unusual that someone loses the right of visitation based on words alone,” Abrams said. “But when you hear these words, and they are on tape, [it’s] not surprising.”

The words were harsh: “I don't give a damn that you’re 12 years old, or 11 years old, or that you’re a child, or that your mother is a thoughtless pain in the a** who doesn’t care about what you do as far as I’m concerned. You have humiliated me for the last time with this phone,” he said.

He was scheduled to call Ireland at a specific time. When she didn’t answer, which he indicated has happened before, he exploded, saying he was going to get on a plane and fly from New York to Los Angeles to “straighten you out on this issue.”

Basinger was charged with contempt of court in 2004 for violating the custody agreement. A hearing on that charge is pending. At the May 4 hearing on Baldwin’s visitation rights, Abrams said, the judge will have several options.

Baldwin already apologized Thursday through a spokesman, and on Friday explained himself on his Web site.


“I’m sorry, as everyone who knows me is aware, for losing my temper with my child. I have been driven to the edge by parental alienation for many years now. You have to go through this to understand. (Although I hope you never do.) I am sorry for what happened. But I am equally sorry that a court order was violated, which had deliberately been put under seal in this case.”

Sanjaya is eliminated at last

After struggling to survive five elimination rounds, Sanjaya was voted out tonight.




He was among the three who received the least number of votes. The other two were Blake Lewis and one of the top contenders for American Idol trophy, Lakisha Jones.

Many will be rejoicing but to me, Sanjaya is one of the reasons why many watched the show.Anticipating that he would be eliminated anytime, the viewers waited for Wednesday nights to hear the news.

With Lakisha almost being voted out tonight, Melinda Doolittle and Jordin Sparks are not sure if they may find themselves in the same situation in any remaining week of the Season.

I did not find Clyde unhappy on his elimination. It must be a feeling of relief that he would no longer spend more than 20 hours a week to learn anew dance choreography by his partner Elena.

Expensive Celebrity Divorces

So it is not Paul McCartney's divorce with Heather which is going to be the most expensive. It's Michael Jordan's divorce with his wife of 17 years.

Here is the news:

The basketball superstar's split last December from his wife of 17 years, Juanita, is No. 1 on Forbes.com's list of "The 10 Most Expensive Celebrity Divorces."

Juanita Jordan could possibly "get more than $150 million in a settlement, making the Jordan divorce the most expensive in entertainment history," Forbes said.

Neil Diamond, whose 1995 divorce from Marcia Murphey cost him an estimated $150 million, holds second place.

Steven Spielberg comes in third for paying his ex-wife Amy Irving an estimated $100 million, which was then half his fortune, when they divorced in 1989. The Oscar-winning director is now worth $3 billion.

Also making the list are estimated settlements between Harrison Ford and Melissa Mathison ($85 million); Kevin Costner and Cindy Silva ($80 million); Paul McCartney and Heather Mills, whose divorce could cost him more than $60 million; James Cameron and Linda Hamilton ($50 million); Michael and Diandra Douglas ($45 million and two homes); Lionel and Diane Richie ($20 million); and Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall ($15 to $25 million).

Forbes said they researched divorces of the last 25 years in compiling the list, which was posted Thursday on its Web site.
