Dixie Chicks were very demure in their all-black ensemble. Their Not Ready to be Nice won the Best Record of the Year Award,Best Song of the Year award,Best country performance by a duo or group; their album, Taking the Long Way won the Best Album of the Year award and Best Country Album Award.
Mary J. Blige, Best Female R&B Vocal Performance posed in off-white/silver accented long gown. Her album, The Breakthrough also won the Best R& B Album award.
Carrie Underwood, the American Idol winner won another award as the Grammy's Best New Artist, Best Country Song for Jesus, Take the Wheel and Best Country Female Vocal Performance. She was a delight to see in this silver gown.
Corinne Bailey Rae came with a fabulous black strapless dress. She was a nominee in the categories, Best Record and Best New Artist. She did not take home any award.
Leann Rimes was nominated in the Best Female Country Vocal Performance. She did not get the award.

Justin Timberlake won the Best dance recording with his Sexy Back and Best rap/sung collaboration featuring TI - My Love.
John Mayer won the Best male pop vocal performance with his Waiting On The World To Change which also won the Pop Album of the Year award.
Jennifer Hudson-the American Idol finalist who just recently received the Best Supporting Actress from the Golden Globe. Her gown is simple but it is red just like the carpet.
Shakira performed "Hips Don't Lie".
